Just war theory

After the discussion on Friday in class i do believe in the theory of just war and that if applied correctly wars may be justified. but as it goes in today's world i feel that their never will be a just war because governments do not adhere to the rules provided in just war. they lie and twist events in order to make the public believe that they are just. and when you think bout it, this has probably been going on since the beginning of time. my question is why do we even try to justify war through just war theory? it will never happen when each side thinks that the they have just cause.

I think that we try to use Just War Theory because it is the only way to convince a population that war is necessary and an ethical option. However, the viability and truth in the facts given to a population are an entirely different story.
