today while in class i got to thinking, if an enemy is evil like governments and media portray them to be, why use propaganda? would society not know their enemy without the help of media? or is propaganda a way to taking people who do not have an opinion; and then
forcing one on them?

Propoganda intensifies dislike and makes it easier for the populace to accept any course of action to 'defeat the enemy.' By dehuminization, we attempt to assign different meanings to terms like "collateral damage" and "civilian deaths" after all, if they are all "evil" don't they all deserve to die?...
