business ethics
is it possible for businesses and corporations to apply business ethics in today's society. especially when we live in a business world that seems to feed off of corruption. i wonder if pressure is being put on businesses to have them follow this form of applied ethics? and if pressure is being applied by who? it seems to me as if the people are the ones that need to put pressure on these corporations; if we wait for the government to do it, we might not ever see that happen, or if they do intervene it is because they have some kind of agenda that will benefit them.

I agree to all the points you made in that greed corrupts the business world, the government is inept to act and apply ethics to business, or even itself at times for that matter, and that people are the ones who need to inspire change. People are at the root of all businesses and the same people need to supplement their business mentality with a little bit of ethics. If people would just use the same ethical codes they use in every day life to their businesses, then the business community and global community would be mutually benefited.
Problem is, everyday ethical codes -- don't withhold important truths, cheat, exaggerate for personal gain, or use others as mere means to our selfish ends -- are incompatible with prevailing assumptions about "successful business practices."
